Welcome to the forum
I just had to respond to this posting. When my son graduated from High School he was fortunate to have a scholarship waiting for him, but he wanted to some time off and go to university a year later when he was 18.
He was a little dissapointed in me when his friends were getting cars and trips to Europe for grad presents. I decided to set him up with an investment portfolio consisting of equal portions in a savings account, a chequing account, mutual funds and a term life insurance policy equivilant to 10 years return on his equity in these other accounts @ 8%
Ten years later his net worth is greater than $400K and my daughter who got the trip to Europe for graduating is jealous.
Introducing your kids to this life passion is one of the greatest gifts possible and I applaud your initiative. Your daughter will understand so much practical science and mass psychology that she will be a certain success.
Congratulations
