From the TSX Policy STatement of Timely Disclosure:

It is not appropriate for a listed company to request a halt if material announcement is not going to be made forthwith.

Information regarding the request is provided to Market Surveillance with the request.

Trading is normally interrupted for a period of less than 2 hours

The announcement shouold be made immediately after the halt.
