I'm not sure how many posts per day on Agoracom. But people wonder how to find a specific topic without having to click page after page. It sounds like a Search on site would be ideal.
But there's a debate whether or not Search is necessary to help people find what they need. Believe it or not, a recent report done by a US company (can't remember its name) shows that success rate drops from ~70% to ~35% if people use search function.
I personally find search is useful if I know what keyword(s) to use and not many results get returned. Oftentimes web search engines return thousands of results, which is useless to me. (I believe you've experienced that.)
So what can we search this forum then? Here's my tip:
For instance, in Google, type in "Technical analysis noront site:agoracom.com" (keywords + search site). It returns 348 results (not too bad). All links have partial content so that we can determine which one to read easily. (some shows how many hours/days old so that we know which one to read first.)
To Agoracom, would you consider Google Custom Search and have a link somewhere? I'm not sure how much it costs but it saves developing time if you want to implement one.
Happy Searching NOT!
