The buyers strike on resource stocks continued during Monday trading, as the bulls and the bears battled for supremacy on the Canadian markets. For the tale of the tape, the TSX Exchange rallied 0.71%, while the TSX Gold Index tacked on 1.7% and the TSX Venture Exchange, Canada’s largest junior exploration bourse, was the winner of the day by posting a 0.15% gain on robust trading volume of 244 million shares.
Noront Resources tagged the highest grades yet from the Double Eagle Project in the McFauld's Lake Area of northeastern Ontario. Hole 27 cut 35 metres running 7.91% nickel, 3.45% copper, 1.66 grams platinum per tonne, 12.79 grams palladium per tonne, 3.87 grams gold per tonne and 9.27 grams silver per tonne. Noront ended the day up C$0.69 at C$4.14.
