Your points are well taken based on your perspective as they make a lot of sense .... from your perspective.  It really does depend on what you are looking to do and what set of rules you trade by.  Many got into NOT for the "buy low sell high" approach when NOT was well below a dollar.....speculation.  Lots of blue sky at that time (still is).  So, for people to look to the other area plays  makes sense in light of having taken the very same approach with NOT.  The difference this time is that their spec. play now has some serious potential given the nature of nickel deposits, pods etc. (if you want to find a deposit, look for another existing deposit).  We waited a very long time for NOT to do what it has done and so it will not be unlikely for the area plays to likewise take time, with a little additional speed, given the more intense focus and recently acquired knowledge of how to look for value.  Obviously if you are going to find the same final value as NOT, the others will have to prove up similar deposits, but to go from .50 to 2.50 will be a lot easier to do in this area than to go from 3.45 to 17.25 in the short term and will take a lot less to do it, given the collective momentum in the J.B. area.  At least, that's how it could go. But then it may not.  No one knows anything for sure.   Strong feelings and inclinations drive a lot of what is said on this board and we're all entitled to them.  However, each of us will ultimately have to check our beliefs with the final results.
