I too read have the Big Score (from the library) and found the similarities remarkable. I have expressed this many times on this site that the book is a must read and it is interesting to receive your comments.
If there was one major difference I would say Robert Friedland, who in my mine would be classified as slimy penny stock promoter with an ugly history lucked out with Voisey's Bay, BUT did have the mindset to secure a pretty darn good deal playing the bidders (Inco and Falconbridge) into a bidding war for himself and other investors. Diamond Fields and Noront do have very two different management personalities and in no way can one compare Robert Friedland to Richard Nemis. Two very different people and perhaps Richard Nemis can secure an even better deal for all NOT investors. I will also say that the prices of commodities were much lower then also and that plays into our hands well.
