Not being able to get orders in when markets panic like this morning isn't new. In 1987 this happened. MM's and brokers were thought to be not answering their phones on purpose by some. It may have been true or it may have just been volume. MM's were thought to be not making bids with enough volume to buy the shares offered. On CNN this morning the same sentiments were expressed that no buy orders caused the Dow to fall over 400 points. Seems the fear of not knowing where the bottom might be held buyers back. It probably will happen again, hopefully, not for a while. Perhaps the next problem will be on the buy side when Noront strikes a lot more ore and brings on a buying panic with a lack of sellers until the ceiling is found.
