Good points Notie, but I suggest that tonnage potential can also be demonstrated just through drilling results, and if NOT had been able to step-out significantly (I am sure they will soon), this would have gone along way to demonstrating larger tonnage potential.
Consider Aurelian as an example... The tonnage potential was anticipated just on drill results and many analysts were projecting tonnage ranges based on them, and were quite happy to value the company based on the was being projected...
So, I do not think it is just this so-called 'tonnage issue' on its own... I think Sum4All has hit the nail on the head - it may just as much for broader investment participation, which is crucial to SP growth, and it may be the lack thereof that is just as much to blame for the SP stall as this tonnage thing.
Whatever the case, my point is I think there has to be something more to it than simply establishing/confirming tonnage...
At any rate, as you state, whatever the rationale, it will only do us good. :-)
