Reading your comments (I have reposted them below for reference) I get the feeling you are not totally hinged on the 'Impact' theory. That would be good so that you do not box your self into a corner again. I am not sold on the 'Impact' theory either but will let it help educate me as to what actually what did the doing of this newly discovered mineral belt. I have a sense that it was the result of Geological events over time where an impact may have had a significant influence, but as what you have written (see below) suggests to me, there were preceding as well as subsequent Geological dynamics that were responsible for the mineralization formation. I do not want to generate (or degenerate) into academic wrangling and nitpicking but do feel you are understating the concentration of Ni typically believed to be contained in Mantle material. Regular magma, thats molten rock or solidified rocks, only contains tiny amounts of Ni etc something like 20 to 40 parts per BILLION !!! ...as I said very small amounts indeed..could never never be economical, sine 1% Ni is equivilent to 10,000 parts per MILLION, that's 10,000 Parts pr Million...so then how does that 20 parts per BILION gets to be as rich as 10,000 parts per Million in a given rock?..... The answer is thru Geological processes and magma Ni depletion and accumulation somewhere...that is when magma is mobile and molten, these NI sulfides become liquid throughout the whole magma size/volumes....and just as Oil and Water can't mix together, neither can the "cummulate" part of the magma, which contains the Ni Sulfides, mix with the rest of the magma volume...so as magma flows up from the earth's mantle forming hot conduits as it melts the earth's crust, some of this "cummulate" is left behind, attracted by either sulfur or flesic rocks, and stays inside the conduits while the rest of the magma flows back down to it's parent HUGE magma neat/at the mantle. This same process is repeated a myriad of times, as the magma borroughs/melts it's way into the Earth's crust, and eventually onto the earth itself as lava...constantly rising and flowiing back down, rising and flowing back down...this is known as successive introductions of magma...every time the magma does this, the Ni sulfides are joined together/accumulated and thereby enriched to 1% Ni... Geologist have figured out, once a depost is known in size, the amount or volume of magma necessary to accumulate the ore body of 1% Ni...so to summarize, it took a HUGE HUGE amounts of Magma to concentrate Ni from 20 to 40 ppb to 5% as in the case of NOT... As far as the 'conduits" being associated, well they must be...although these "conduits" may be in diffrent surrounding areas, since this HUGE HUGE amount of parent magma, repeated the same process as the earth moves either way so does the mantle, and lava behaves like a wild living "thing" going in whatever direction of least resistance, melting away variousportions/sections of the earth's crust...creating magma conduits.. yes..these ATEMs anomalies will/should be related, since it's the same HUGE parent magma that was resposible for their Ni concentrations from the mantle....they don;t necessarily have to all join together, as I mentioned magma is unpredictable and moves essentially wherever it wants, melting whatever crust rocks it chooses... So again YES these ATEM2 are related, since Mr. Nemis himself indicated they had the same ATEMs2 signatures...so not only is there a real probability to extend NOT's deposit laterally on Earth, but more or just as ipmportantly, as poited out in my map of Nickel Rim, vertically to depth, wherein the HUGE parent magma came from...the Mineralization should extend for a few Kms vertically below to the Parent Magma , as it does at Sudbury... also...this is the last day for tax sellling, only 1/2 day monday...the shorts/day traders are having a field day...volumes are picking up with a very small decline...BUT...every share is being bought up and going into much stronger hands...all the weak hands will be out..I look forward to the new year, when most of these Jr. Resources will again shine...
