Noront has been falling this week along with all of the juniors. The reason is the US dollar. It has been rising for about a week (the Canadian dollar went from .96 to 1.01). and there has been a big selloff in juniors. This isn't a bad thing, but a great buying opportunity. For instance, MacDonald closed at .63 today. If you own a few juniors you know what I'm talking about.
This will change soon. Once gold takes out $850 and rockets through $900, many of these stocks will soar. While this may take a few months, it's better to get on board now.
While I like to focus on silver and gold mines (I bought Noront for WF), it appears that the McFaulds Lake plays are going to shine. I have to hold my nose and buy them. The upside is staring me in the face.
Why my ambivilance? It's simple, many base metal mining companies will have a short lifespan because of peak oil. The global economy will begin a massive decline between now and 2012. Without cheap energy not even China will be able to grow.
But don't get discouraged about McFaulds Lake. We have a few years until peak oil bites us. I'm extremely confident that the nottie girl will see double digits soon.
