Norontarian, many times when this happens you can see that the same house is doing the buying and selling.  they are doing this to increase volume and create flags for traders.  Because their fees are very low, it costs them very little to inflate volume and create an artificial buzz.  It is a small price for them to pay versus the potential upside of dumping their stock at a higher price.  No magic involved!
