Just keep in mind that the really big investment firms run mostly on numbers and numbers alone. Numbers are easily manipulated as I feel confident you already know. The models that run the numbers were developed to allow for massive quantities of inputs (more numbers). These guys have to follow their expensively acquired models as to do otherwise would cause them logistical night meres. Thus, when the models say the market is due for a correction then it is almost next to a self fulfilling prophesy. I have had problems with accurate data feed in the very recent past as well. They say they have fixed the problem but for 4-6 months I had real difficulty believing some specific data sets periodically and had to rely on a different supplier to be sure. The one factor humans are required for is to seek confirmation on the accuracy or validity or a firms model outputs with other firms model results (as they each have their own models and hopefully their own numbers to input). Thus, if enough of them have similar outputs from their models, momentum becomes difficult to fight against. For monetary data they are largely reliant on Government supplied data sets. We are experiencing the momentum side effect of the Big Stage game. Individuals caught off side are forced to cover margins, readjust portfolios, pay bills, fees and automatic deductions or withdrawals, etc.. Some are just taking out cash they did not think they would need at this point in time or planed on doing so at a higher price. A large part of what we are seeing in the share price action of NOT is the consequences of this and some are taking advantage of it. I am to a small extent. Others to a much larger extent. (the manipulators as they are called). Then there are those who will later say it was all in the 'Tape'. Well, I have heard too many times that these individuals have a sub 50% batting average. Some who follow the technical analysis also play games with the technical analysis as a means of gaining advantage over the pure blind followers of this technical analysis. Thus, nothing is fool proof! Caution and prudence are still the best protection against greed, fear, and manipulation. This works for me. Who else? Old Joe
