In answer to why NOT is different:-

1. It's a junior mining company with lots of new good press (sorry this one is obvious).

2. As the U.S. dollar decreases in value so Gold will go up as will NOT's value (pretty obvious too).

3. Trader's will look for a portion of their portfolios to allocate for spectacular gains (10% fun money).

4. As earnings go south for some companies NOT's value will increase (capital gains instead of dividends).

5. Metals will continue to become more and more attractive as world population skyrockets.

6. Awe inspiring management team (R.N. especially).

Just a few of my lighthearted observations. Input please? Oh yes, and December will be stellar as well.
