The AGMs of public companies that I have attended in the last ten years have not been major news events. You follow the script, reviewed by the lawyer, to make sure that the required motions are passed. There is reporting on the performance of the past year and few comments on what is expected in the industry in the coming year. There is a question period for the few shareholders who attend in person.
What happens tomorrow if there is no halt for news and no new results can be announced or questions answered about information not yet released. There sure seems to be an expectation by many that there will be a big NR just before this meeting that will send the price higher. If there is no new information, what will the market reaction be? I have been of the opinion for a few days that the expectation have been built far too high and that the meeting can never meet them.
On the other hand, I am not in the least bit worried about the market reaction because I have no intention of selling in the near future.
