Flaherty still studying capital gains tax deferral

OTTAWA (Reuters) - Finance Minister Jim Flaherty said on Wednesday the government is still considering introducing a deferral of the capital gains tax, but gave no timeline.

The Conservatives promised in their last election campaign to grant a deferral of the tax when profits were reinvested in six months.

When asked by reporters if that was still in the plans, Flaherty said: "We're still looking at that."

He added the government does not anticipate including tax cuts in its fall fiscal update.
