Greetings all!

Great banter here this evening.

Thanks for that! I know it is hard to exchange theories and approaches without an occasional misunderstanding. I have learned much today. I am not a day trader so I have much ignorance on the subject, hence my questions and facination.

And true, since I am not a day trader I have my bias. Plus, living on SH for the last 12 months, with a range of stocks, does make one a bit paranoid. I did get burned a few times by excited and convincing posters.

So, day traders get a bum rap because of what some (many? - there's my prejudice again) day traders do.

Not the best analogy but, in a similar vein, I had heard of this kind of prejudice about mortorcycle riders too (people assuming the worst) and that was borne out to me when I was learing to ride in and around my own neighborhood, helmet covering my face, and was stopped by a resident and asked in a suspicious tone 'can I help you with something?' I guess he thought the worst! Maybe Al and MiningJunkie feel like I am asking THEM 'can I help you?'

The suspicion, and I assume temptation, of the day trader would be to pump and bash, since, as Al so well pointed out, just .16 or even less, can make a man, with deep pockets, a good chunk of change. Therefore, day traders are always looked on suspiciously by the longs. And of course, to believe that of all day traders would be wrong and no doubt just plain ignorant.

My heart did pump a little faster I read Al's '$1,600 three or four times a day'.. that's when I started thinking 'Hey, I could be a day trader too.. AND QUIT MY JOB'. Then I knew I was in trouble... and that's why I'm NOT a day trader. Actually, I do hope NOT allows me to QUIT MY JOB, in the long run (maybe not too long!) I must be honest here.

The other climactic change here is that when the board was populated almost exclusively by longs... back in the day... everyone rooted for one another, as we were all going in the same direction and felt to be on the same team. When the stock fell, we didn't talk about trading opportunities, we bucked each other up, helped eadh other keep the faith. And this approach has paid off well!

With a mix of day traders that feeling is gone. No longer are we allowed to encourage the newcomer when the stock falls. Some accuse us of pumping. Now it is a bit more rugged, more of an everyman for himself, since he who makes money is the one who outfoxes another with skill and cunning... not the one who has found a company he loves and supports as for a team. A bit naive to some, but important to others. I love being a part of the NOT story, that is, the climb to fame and glory. I am not so motivated by the fast trade. I guess that is why I buy and hold. It is a vote of confidence for me. I also love an underdog, and NOT has been an underdog for a good while. An underdog who is now coming into his own. What a story!

But this is a new NOT, he's no longer a toddler with just promise, he's now coming into his adolescent age, and its time to leave the warmth of the hearth. We can't keep this young one in the family home any longer. He's going to have to make it on his own, and we also.

The plus side is that I am learning how others do things, those who don't just buy and hold. You have helped me broaden my knowlege. Thanks Al and Mining Junkie and others so much for sharing the reasons and skills and tools involved.

Intothewest, Rockaur, Pw and Slidog - I hope you guys can get together .. you have some terrific skills of your own that are oh so very appreciated!

Thanks again. I have learned a lot today with everyone being open with their ideas.

Good night to all my Canadian and European and Aussie and South American friends!

I LOVE NOT! (doens't sound like a sophisticated trader, does it.. but it feels so good to say it!)

Cheers.

BK
