With pleasure... Just bear in mind that that is a simplified discussion that glosses over many technical details...

For example, gold is not magnetic, but yet magnetic anonalies are used to locate potential gold targets. This is because there are magnetic substances contained within deposits mineralized with gold, i.e., associated with gold minerlization, or the geological environment/context are taken into account in interpreting magnetic anomalies that will indicated folding, faulting, etc. where gold mineralization mave have occurred.

The point is, the magentic anomalies are more an indicator of structure than of potential deposits - they are astarting point for locating a discovery, and not the discovery itself.
