Message: Smash may have set a new standard in exploration techniques for the Yukon

In order to speed up the exploration process, Smash has acquired an expensive bench X-ray fluorescence spectrometer (XRF-Spec).

With this device Smash will be able to pre-screen soil samples on site to better help guide the program and speed-up your following exploration steps, because you won´t have to wait 4-6 weeks for the soil sample results to come back from the lab. And this state-of-the-art bench XRF will provide much more precise results compared to the handheld devices other companies are using.

Although the device probably does not have a low-enough detection threshold for the gold grades expected to be encountered in soil (under 15 grams per tonne), it can detect indicator metals such as tungsten, molybdenum, arsenic and antimony.

These indicator metals have already been identified on Smash ground in previous sampling programs and encouragingly they can also be found at both the Golden Saddle and Coffee discoveries.

In today´s PEX NR, they announced that they will apply the same exploration technique and will pre-screen soil samples for pathfinder elements with XRF devices.

<<< Simultaneous with the geophysics,in-fill soil samples will be collected in these areas and analyzed on-site with an XRF analyzer, in advance of analysis with a commercial laboratory. This instrument can provide daily qualitative results which may detect pathfinder elements highlighting areas of interest for immediate follow-up. >>>

This will save a lot of time and time is of the essence for Yukon explorers due to the very short exploration season (May-September).
