I don't know off hand how much it costs Americas to produce a barrel of oil. I have e-mailed Americas with the question and when/if I get a reply I will post it right away.

The cost of production of a barrel is much less in Argentina than in say the oil sands for the following reasons:

1. it is oil and not tar sands.

2. the site is very accessible

3. the weather is good all year round.

4. labour is a lot cheaper.

5. fiscal poicy in Argentina is favourable (apparently)
