In regard to the Mosque that certain folks want to build in NYC near Ground Zero.

The Gov of NY has come up with a proposal to swap or give State Land in another location for the Mosque. Lately other politicians have endorsed this plan.

Could someone tell me why it is acceptable to use State Land to build a Mosque? Here in San Diego we have a cross on Mt. Soledad that has been there over 60 years and is a war memorial and yet it has been attacked for dozens of years and been in and out of local, state and federal court. Some courts say the cross can stay others say no and this is about a War Memorial for Americans that have died in wars the USA has fought.

So please can anybody tell me why there has not been a tremendous outcry regarding a NY plan to give State land to Muslims for a Mosque?
