FYI: In my studies on Communism, I learned that as long ago as the late 1930"s following the recognition of Communist Russia by Roosevelt, the majorioty of the first Communists to come to the US were professors who headed to the US unversities. The first departments to which they headed were the English departments. Most people guess that they would have gone straight to the political science or psychology departments, but no, they went directly to the English departments because that's the place that journalists were trained.

Today, we are reaping the "benefits" of their actions.

Oh and by the way, by the time I was in college in the 50's, it was obvious that a lot of damage had also been done to the education department. There are no words to describe how absolutely awful the John Dewey method of teaching was, but that is what was shoved down my throat. (I almost flunked out until I figured out how to go along to get along......finally graduated with a 3.25) When I had my own class of little ones, I used the "Manor Method" and EVERY youngster in my classes was able to read!
