Unlike many Canadians, my sense of self-worth doesn't rise and fall according to the changing fortunes of Team Canada (and most certainly not the Toronto Maple Leafs). But I do like to watch a good game of hockey, and last night's was a great game. I've never thought of the US team as anything other than belonging to the top tier. Actually, I'm secretly rooting for the Russian team, whose players are arguably individually the most talented; how well they do depends on whether their coach is able to instill a team ethic to complement all that skill.
