pappythom, short term benefits of the kind you describe will indeed accrue to Canada and Canadians... but at what long term cost? Would I be less concerned if I didn't have my own kids and their as yet unborn kids to worry about? I hope not.

Actually, Canada has more than its fair share of fresh water already, a fact which the rest of the world is gradually waking up to. That will bring its own set of problems.

It's been several decades since I last enjoyed the benefits of a little weed, preferring wine and, like Chuck, the odd single malt these days instead. I guess I'm not quite the liberal I'm cracked up to be after all.
