Sedley, I couldn't agree with you more. In lambert's defence however... from what I've absorbed from lambert's posting history, I'm guessing that when he says conservative, he's talking about the old-fashioned right-of-centre moderate, i.e. someone we can all identify with and even vote for occasionally, even when we don't completely agree with him/her. Unless lamberts is an inveterate lurker, I don't think he spends enough time on this OT forum to realize just how much hate and venom gets spewed here. There are very few true conservatives who post here.
