Nice post on gun ownership. Some people don't understand that in rural America guns are used to protect our families and property as well as a way to provide some food for the table. We grew up learning how to safely use, care for and store weapons. We cannot rely on the police for this service. At a neighborhood watch meeting the county sherrif told us that because their was only one officer on days and two officers at night on duty covering a huge area in our county, that we should be capable of holding off an intruder for at least a half an hour before they could make it on the scene. Some people don't understand that the bad guys seem to find ways to get the guns and use them to do bad things. I just can't understand how these people think, wrong is right, right is wrong, evil is good and good is evil. They're out of touch with the real world and the principles and foundations this country was built on. They are clueless and yet they want to control every aspect of our lives.
