Seems there are doubting Thomases on this situation...thinking it might have been a RC model aircraft. My son is one who is maybe doubting.
I enclose his email to me and my responses to him:
Very interesting, but it looks funny to me. It looks really, really light to me the way it bounds around, but that could be correct. It looks like an RC plane to me, but I'll leave it up to you guys who know both to say.
However, I looked at the comments and there are people who claim it's a fake. There was one person called dustymaze who posted about an hour ago (about 1.00pm Eastern time) who said that there was still a shadow at second 17. Actually, I found it at :18. You have to pause/unpause/pause etc until you can see it, but the wing has clearly come off, yet there's a shadow across the plane body that certainly looks like it's from the missing wing.
Actually, I just did it again and screen-captured it. This time I caught it at :17 and attached the file.
I report, you decide.
Btw, I've voting for Palin and that white-haired dude who running with her.
Thanks for your vote! IMO, it's not a fake or RC aircraft! All you have to see is the last few seconds as he is in knife edge just prior to flipping to the landing gear! Where is the right wing at that point? Also it's apparent that there is no right wing as he touches down and finishes taxiing, turns and opens the canopy!
Also stop/start the clip during the last couple of seconds.....engine maxed, keep watching his left rudder inputs and then note the left (only one remaining) aileron fully deflected up (left roll)....to me it tells the whole story of a gutsy, smart and very lucky pilot!
