The environmentalists shut down the building of new oil refineries in this country. Where would our economy be today if we had built more refineries in this country and been allowed to tap into oil here at home? $700,000,000,000 dollars a year, probably more than we will make on PTSC, every year goes to countries that don't like us and reduces our national security not only because we are at their mercy but we are weakened as well by transferring all this wealth to these countries.
In the mean time oil refineries are built in other countries that don't have our high polution emission standards so what did the environmentalists accomplish? They eliminated jobs in this country building new refineries and figuring out how to reduce emmisions. They transferred the refining process to foreign countries that pollute the planet without higher regulation. they have weakened us as a nation economically and politically by the transfer of wealth from our country to rogue nations. 911 may have never happened if the U.S. was not involved in middle eastern oil. The wars we're fighting now as well probably wouldn't have happened.
We need to build refineries and tap into oil at home as well as figure out better ways to burn the fuel to lower emmisions. We also need to aggressively pursue alternative forms of energy that can eventually replace the fossil fuels we use today. I would support a tax on the oil companies where the oil tax goes to fund these alternative energy programs. I think having the oil companies develop the alternative energy programs is like having the fox gaurding the henhouse.
All the best,
Steve
