Political comparisons

Charts and queries and comparisons of who did what when really help very little. IMO the problem lies with the democrats quest for power. Democrats ruled our country for many years until Ronald Reagan unseated them.
At that time, if I recall, Reagan stated that he used to be a Democrat and that he did not leave the Democrat party, the Democrat party left him. Something to that effect. Ever since then the democrats vowed they would retake the Whitehouse and never give it up again. It didn't work out that way for them. During the Clinton - Gore era, Newt Gingrich and a Republican congress held them in check, the deficit dropped, the economy was good (and so are all the charts). The country was working together.
During the Bush - Gore campaign. I remember Bush constantly reminding the American people that he would cross party lines for legislation, appoint minorities to his cabinet and try to continue the country down a harmonious path. He did. McCain- Feingold campaign reform bill, McCain - Kennedy education bill, Condie Rice, Jose Gonzalez, Colin Powell in his cabinet.
But the democrats were pissed that Bush had won a close election with Gore and had taken away their power again. They have obstructed, defamed, destroyed, swindled and complained about everything George Bush and company ever tried to do. Why? Because they lost again, because they were cheated out of the election in Florida? Remember the childish pranks of removing all the "W" keys at the Whitehouse when they had to leave?
What if they had of supported the Bush administration over the last eight years and reached back across the aisle to the Republicans? Where might our country be today? My guess is not where we are.
Our presidential choice coming up is an important one. I truley believe John McCain wants to serve our country and Barack Obama has an agenda.
