That's the funny thing about this. All this uproar about Palin and the bottom line is of the four people on the national ticket, by far SHE is the one most qualified experience wise for the executive position of president. Granted she may not have the exposure to the foreign policy issues and relationships that McCain and Biden have, but Obama doesn't have them either, but from the responsibilities that the president has, she's done those things, while the others haven't...including McCain. And besides, in the end, that's what a Cabinet is for, to bring those with the specific experience into the fold. She is a good communicator, she engenders a positive feeling from people and about what she represents. She seems politically sharp. Truthfully, my biggest concern with her is whether she really wanted to be on the path to national office, not whether she is qualified for it. The history of the presidency is filled with people who don't have a long history of political experience. I'm looking forward to learning more about her.

It's funny, I saw a video of Matt Damon speaking about how horrific he thinks it is that this woman is on the brink of the Vice Presidency and possibly the Presidency even though he (and us) know so little about this woman. Yet he finds no problem making these negative statements about her, perpetuating the blogosphere lies, and these attacks on her by the media and the Obama campaign. He seems to fail to see the absolute irony that he is willing to go on screen with a public statement about how terrible all this is, yet at the same time he admittedly knows nothing about her, and obviously, hasn't made an effort to learn anything about her as he perpetuates the same lies that have been already proven false and that he WOULD know were false with just the littlelest effort to research her. How can he make a judgement about something he knows so little about, and even more appalling, make such strorng statements about her. That's the ultimate in elitism, arrogance, and ignorance, in my opinion, and is so prolific in our national discourse, it's sad. To be fair, I think Obama has been subject to some of this as well, but by the same token, much more is known about him for judgements to be based on.

So I certainly think McCain for four years of change, and Palin for another eight actually might not be such a bad idea. It certainly would be interesting to see what would happen.
