Being as I pretty much knew nothing about her before today, I just got done reading up on Sarah Palin.
There are clearly some postives when it comes to this women, and one big negative. On the plus side, she has excellent values; has been very pro-active about cleaning up her own party in her own state; is trying to make Alaska more financialy self sufficient and not rely on the federal govt. so much; is pro life; has her own float plane! (As a pilot, she scores big points in my book for that right there); is a lifetime NRA member, (such as myself); as Mayor of Wasilla, cut property taxes by 60%, (gotta love that!); and finally, she's from Alaska! I lived in Alaska and have travelled the state extensively. People in Alaska are can-do people. In Alaska, truly anyone still has opportunity to go as far as their own potential allows them.
On the negative side, she's seriously lacking in experience in general. She has no foreign policy experience. And although Alaska is the biggest state in the Union, she's only been governor there for two years.
But to put things in perspective. McCain brings a wealth of experience to the table, wheras Obama brings nothing. So Palin and Obama are a wash in that sense. And from a values point of view, Palin blows Obama out of the water. Clearly, no comparison. I think Daddy Biden should be running for President on the democratic ticket while holding Obama's hand. If McCain should become President, hopefully Palin will get some really good on the job training in before McCain kicks it. I'm actually very concerned about McCains age and longetivity.
