Anyone can flag a post, so why should someone jump on me and say "why didn't you flag that post"? That doesn't make any sense.
I may be mistaken but my understanding of a monitor is a person who ensures full compliance of all applicable rules. and it follows that if there is a breach of the rules, they will act accordingly. In other words, it is the duty of a monitor on the Discussion Forum to flag and or remove any such post which is in violation of the rules.
Anyone can but the monitor, by definition, has to flag it. There is no choice in the matter otherwise it becomes arbitrary and based on the monitor's personal preferences(which brings me back to why I left the other board in the first place).
The simple omission of not flagging/removing a post which has been brought to a monitor's attention as a potential breach of the posting rules defeats the role of monitor.
Be well
