You are correct. The U.S had a hand with placing Castro in that position. This was on the notion that Fiedel and Raul were one thing and it turned out they were quite another. If my history is correct the boys started getting a little twitchy with power in their thought process and we, the U.S got what we didn't bargin for. That is what we get for trying to tell them what to do. Much like the fool Chamberlin after meeting with der furer Hitler....things didn't go to well for the Brits.
The bad thing is that the folks of Cuba suffered and continue to suffer. Maybe in our lifetime this will change for the better.
