Beautiful cloudless day... started at the Park Butte/Railroad Grade/Scott Paul trailhead (elev 3400') on the south side of Baker..
Schrieber's Meadow.. just a bit of snow left to cross..

Railroad Grade trail was formed by the western lateral moraine of the Easton Glacier as it churned down... it has since retreated a great distance since the 1800's...

a very cooperative marmot..

From trails end (high camp.. elev 6500').. looking down the glacial moraine.. it is enormous

Sherman Peak on right.. Summit Crater.. & Grant Peak (true summit) on left..

Look closely (on the far left) and see the 7 (1 2 4) pushing for summit.. they are on the Roman Wall.. I watched them with binos.. it was a pretty slow go

One last panorama.. Black Buttes & Baker

~7 mile round trip.. ~3000' elev gain... 3 hrs up.. 2 hrs down.. awesome
