Bill, my brother is a big fan of the silent movies......While i was in Calif we were watching a 1927 classic of Buster Keaton doing his thing in Yankee stadium.........Now i know where Rick Demsey stole his head first slide into home during the rain delays..........Brilliant comedy.......

So, when you look around the old ball park it was 461 to dead center 457 to left center and 407 to right center...........It was also the dead ball era............As they say Ruth did it on beer and hot dogs.............
