Not sure if I can completely agree - Inter-company politics can affect the most altruistic of ideals and objectives. I`d suspect he had a fair share of juggling to do from the pro-Swartz factions within the company, along with Swartz, themselves.
Jeff`s strong point IMO was his shareholder acessibility and honesty. Remember, he really didn`t have a sales force to work with, and he was probably hamstrung by Swartz influence (again) on the choice of litigators and strategy.
