I think you might more of an apology to Omete than you thought, because even tho your thoughts are logical, I believe I have read about cases where the patent was invalidated even after the USPTO had granted the patent. My personal feeling is that that won`t happen in this case, simply because we`ve got some of the industry heavyweights that have decided to not fight, but settle. But it is conceivable that someone could ultimately challenge our patents and have them invalidated by the courts. You legal guys correct me if I`m wrong.

I agree with everything you wrote except that HP, Casio, Fuji MAY have been given a pass on royalties for being among the first to sign up. I HOPE that`s not the case. But have to acknowledge that the possibility`s there.
