My gut and experience tells me he`s more than likely an overachiever who`s made it on his wits and tenacity. Even though he`s not marquis or doesn`t scream Ivy League, he`s most likely earned his shot and can hold his own in the arena. Guys who come up through the ranks the hard way offer a different perspective that can be beneficial.

Food for thought - Sometimes degree-ladened newcomers also arrive with BIG egos and an ``in-charge`` attitude that can end up being caustic, abrasive and counter-productive.
