As for recurring revs, I am not convinced we are receiving structured payments from anyone. I think it would be in TPL`s, PTSC`s benefit to announce recurring revs b.c it would set a precendent for other companies who want to license. IMO they are trying to establish portfolio credibility for legal and licensing proceedings.
Just FYI...
I have not delt with patent IP sales, but I do a lot of selling trademaked products and license agreements on an OEM basis. In most cases, we do not want anyone to know the deal we agreed to with company X since we may sell a similar OEM product to company Y. And, in most cases, we cannot disclose the details as part of the deal. The brand that buys the product wants to tout their marketing features and benefits, not ours.
I have found many, if not most, companies believe we make a lot more than we actually make. They have no way to determine our direct branded sales vs. our OEM biz. It`s just a number on financial statement. This works in our favor and I believe it works in PTSC`s favor as well.
As for being a public company, we are. The details of any of these agreements from TPL do not HAVE to be disclosed. Only the revenue.
