Ah...I`m tired of ripping on all this. I may not be very fair here to Mr. Pohl and if so, I apologize to you Ron, the thread and Mr. Pohl, if he`s reading later.
My experiences over the years encompass both giving end of director-level presentations quite a few times and have sat in on professional level VP and CEO level presentations. Here (at Cisco), I have witnessed plenty of John Chambers presentations. This guy is a Master - smooth, articulate, fluid and most of all, prepared. He does more than sell it, he lives it. You could spend an 2 hours listening to this guy talk (and he will engage for hours on end) and you will walk away energized, in wonderment and really believing that if Cisco made and sold a 3 ft. diameter inner tube that would let you sail around the world, you`d mortgage your house to get one...yes, he`s THAT good.
But you see, that`s it - that`s what separates so much of what`s out there as far as competition - presentation and energy. Especially when you`re talking about chips - there`s a billion of them out there, every designer and manufacturer out there really believes theirs is the best. You need that something to convey that feeling to people so they decide to reach for their wallet, or a purchase order, or whatever...
What I was hoping to also see, were slides that may have been lifted from any presentations done with other customers Patriot would have courted - slides directly linked to Ignites specs, or performance and EEMBC benchmarks vs. the competition. What the heck could TPL have to say that would hinder that, it`s not theirs.
It would have been powerful if they were shown, and would have been encouraging to the experienced shareholder that the forethought was there to use them - after all this was a selling opportunity (chips, shares...what`s the difference?).
I`ve beat this to death, probably posts ago.
I`m done. Thanks for enduring this.
