Lawyers at Feinberg Day said they wanted to start or join the firm in part because they could charge lower rates than the typical “big firm” and still provide high-level legal counsel. Feinberg, for one, said his rates will drop by 40 percent. He did not provide exact dollar figures.
The partners might also do contingency work, said Marc Belloli, a lawyer at the firm. In general, lawyers who work on contingency only charge their client if they win the case — an arrangement that is not typically offered at major corporate law firms.
