This is a repost because the original was removed. While this post does violate the rules of use to a degree, the issue is perteinent. Violating posts are prevailent on this forum, but typically no action is taken DEPENDING SOLELY ON WHO POSTED THE MESSAGE and NOT the message content, which may in fact violate multiple rules. Enough already. Yes, this post has to do with how this forum is moderated. And it apparently caused a flurry of emails to Agora, because only Agora could remove my original post.
The intent of this post is simply to provide the opportunity for users to endorse, or not, my intended action as stated below. It's not necessarily about how other HLs choose to moderate this board. It is about how I intend to moderate this board, if endorsed by the user community.
The following was in response to gcduck:
Well, this is a perfect demonstration of the thought process of some who control this forum.
Your post was reported as a violation by Lambertslunatics.
Reason cited: "This is a repetition of the same opinion he posts very frequently."
The silly thing is that historically you have ONLY stated this opinion in RESPONSE to the same old, extremely redundant posts by certain others.
So apparently redundant posts by some is completely acceptable. And per this "reason" for a violation report, which was also processed by lambertalunatics and a warning issued, if someone makes a post complaining of the redundancy, the LATTER is unacceptable and worthy of a violation report and processing by a single HL.
Note the irony. If there wasn't the obvious redundancy allowed, your post would never have been made.
And, BTW, your post received 17 thumbs. Consider THAT in the equation.
I intend to begin enforcing the "no redundant posts" rule vigorously. I've let it slide long enough. Previously my thought was they should be allowed occasionally for the benefit of new users of this forum. There aren't any, or only very few, so that purpose is non-existent. Everyone here already knows. They say their purpose is to influence management. But it hasn't worked for 7-8 years. So that supposed purpose isn't served either. Redundant posts serve zero purpose. This is why they are considered a violation.
If you endorse my intended action, gimme a thumb.
