The early 40's brought us a family of cat dozers. This machine consisted of 2 motors. The very large dozer had to have it's power generated by a very small gas pony motor. The small motor turned the crankshaft just fast enough to start the big engine. Once started the small pony was shut down. Now by depressing the pedal enough rpm's and horsepower was created to move the earth for the world we live in. Without that small motor, there would be no way to generate the big engine.
