I see HTC as a fairly small player. Consider the bigger fish to fry. HTC has had some good products, but they are only 3 or 4% of the 2013 handset market share in the US.
What will HTC eventually pay? It won't just be the $960K. It will have to include plus the other infringement both past and present. Whats more, the global usage is also part of the equation. Not sure how willing they will be to negotiate, but all the below and probably more is on the table for discussion.
