Ron, not sure if your thought was answered by someone else but just in case...though HTC is not the largest company as you correctly point out their dollar revenue last year was well over $9 Biilion dollars though most of that was outside the USA and they lost about $600 million.
So imo bottom line they can afford more then a mere $10 million dollars and I wish that Leckrone or whoever had never thrown that number out before the trial or ever. I am tired of our leadership lo balling our companies main product. a bit off topic - (just as I am tired of our Nations leadership saying the USA is not an exceptional country... God granted the USA the ability and moral compass and Great people to help the rest of the world become a better place for all....this in my opinon makes us exceptional and now bact to ON Topic..... HTC, can imo afford, a much larger license fee with damages etc then ten million....
Just one more thought .... If the Judge allows at any time in this trial the ITC verdict to be heard by the jury I hope that the jury is then also allowed to hear from Mr. Otterson more about the history of HTC proven infringement on other companies intellectual properties. Just a few days ago many top HTC researchers were arrested in China for patent infringement, maybe we should ask that info should be allowed. I know an arrest does not mean that HTC is guilty in that case at least not until the legal process has run it's course BUT that is my point!
I am of the mind set that since the appeal process is not complete on the ITC case then the jury should not hear about that case.... as they say it is not over till it is over so why allow just partial info out regarding the ITC when the Appeal process in that arena is so important (and we are now finding out how pervasive the industry is in the ITC arena with the two recussal Laurie has found to date). My point is that the legal process in the ITC arena has not run it's course and the info should therefore not go before the jury in this trial. As always IMO.
I pray the Judge likes my opinions as much as I do......
Best to you as always
God Bless
