There were approximately 18 Respondents. There are several documented settlement agreements where Alliacense announced that license agreements had been signed. There was at least one Respondent, Sony, (maybe more) who filed a motion to terminate the investigation on the basis of a consent order.

From Sony's motion: Sony moves to terminate based on a consent order which provides TPL with precisely all of the relief that it could possibly obtain if the investigation were to proceed to a final determination. TPL indicates that it plans to oppose.

Ultimately the investigation was terminated for Sony based on a consent order. Sony agreed to discontinue use of the accused "feature" in its digital photo frames.

(‘‘Nextar’’) of La Verne, California; WinAccord Ltd. Of Taipei, Taiwan and WinAccord U.S.A., Inc. of San Jose, California (collectively, ‘‘the WinAccord respondents’’); Aiptek International Inc. (‘‘Aiptek’’) of Hsinchu, Taiwan; and Pandigital, Inc. (‘‘Pandigital’’) of Dublin, California (collectively, ‘‘the defaulting respondents’’). The Commission has also issued cease and desist orders directed agains t these defaulting respondents.
