Dr. Nonaka is a native Japanese citizen from Yokohama City, educated and trained as a physician and researcher both in Japan and the United States. He received M. D. from Jikei University School of Medicine in Tokyo, and Ph.D. from the Faculty of Medicine at University of Tokyo. He completed his post-doctoral fellowship at the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, California. Then he became Assistant Professor of the Department of Immunology at University of Tokyo. After receiving his Ph.D. degree, he returned to the United States to continue his research in the allergy and immunology field. Since then Dr. Nonaka acquired a vast amount of experience and expertise both in medicine and business. He is Founding President of the La Jolla Institute for Allergy and Immunology (LIAI) in La Jolla, California, where he raised the largest single funding in the Southern California’s basic biomedical research history in the 1980s – more than $50 million. Today LIAI has over 430 employees and has become one of the top immunology research organizations in the United States. A survey conducted by The Scientist magazine in 2012 ranked LIAI as one of ten best places in the world to work for a postdoctoral researcher. Dr. Nonaka started Medical Technology Applications, Inc. (MTA) as a provider of "Turn-Key Venture Realizing Services for Technology." It has been providing highly specialized and responsive analysis, advice and consulting services in the industry areas such as biotechnology, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, functional medical materials, computers and electronics, and defense technology conversion. Its service network is at an international level, especially between the United States, Japan and South East Asia. Since its formation MTA has arranged more than $160 million of financing for various high-tech and biotech companies. Dr. Nonaka has founded several venture companies in the fields such as broadband laser communications technology, vaccine technology, gene therapy, and medical devices. Dr. Nonaka is Adjunct Professor of Medicine at St. Marianna University School of Medicine in Japan, and Advisor for the RIKEN, which is the largest national science research institute of Japan. |

Mr. Mooney has more than 20 years of experience in investment banking, mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity investments, corporate finance, and valuation analysis. Mr. Mooney also has operating experience as a CFO of early stage and mature companies, particularly in the software and medical informatics industries. Mr. Mooney was previously a founder and managing partner of Commercial Bridge Capital, LLC, a venture lending fund and a founder and managing partner of Regent Partners, LLC, a boutique investment banking firm. Mr. Mooney earned his MBA in Corporate Finance in 1990 from the University of Maryland Graduate Business School at College Park, and his BA in Economics from Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland. Mr. Mooney has served on several boards of directors of including Verras Medical, Inc., SmartPro3, Inc. and MediaGear, Inc. and was a founder of Crossflo Systems, Inc. |

Mr. Brule comes to Crossflo Systems with 25 years of experience in high-tech startups. He joined Crosslfo as part of the acquisition of the Vigilys product line from Kratos Defense and Security Solutions. Mr. Brule joined the Vigilys team at Kratos as the Director of Engineering and Director of Product Marketing, and led the effort to bring the product to market. |
