thats an interesting thought and it crossed my thinking also.
apple scored huge. 1 billion. we have already licensed apple so they are no longer in the pool of potential mmp clients.
we are in the patent business and own the patent that apple, i would imaginge, used in some of their technology that has enabled them to be a $600 Billion dollar company. i dont think itunes would have even been possible if it was not for MMP technology that enabled a processor to run above the 120mz threshold. imagine itunes when downloading a song and the download takes 10 minutes. Downloading videos with a PC running at 120mz? i think the settlement of $1 Billion in patent damages may reset the bar for patent infringement. Apples explosion did not come from its PC buisness...it came from Jobs launching iTunes...which launched the iPOD....which launched the iTouch...iPAD....iPhone. These technologies may not all use MMP but none of them would have been possible if a PC's processor was limited to 120mz. So how much is the MMP really worth?
