That is true but only if dividend is a percent and evenly distributed. If it is per share and fixed, one could wind up with half the amount of return. Sort of like cookies and kids you can fool them into thinking half a cookie is one cookie (but not for very long... ;-)
Splits often drive share price down rather than up near term. Short interest seems to climb when splits are announced with non OTC stocks driving price down in advance and I have noted that the same thing has happened with some of the OTC stocks as well (even if shorting is not allowed the pressure to drive the price down remains).
Per share dividends will likely provide more value to shareholders when/if they come.
In that regard, here's to hope...
