OK...I thought Otteson became the attorney back in 2011. Would someone please take a look at the Joint Statement Following the 1st claim construction order of June 12, 2012 and on the very last page, John Cooper of Farella Braun & Martel is listed as the attorney for TPL/Alliacense. Didn't this firm preceed Otteson?
I'm beginning to wonder if Otteson stepped in for a short period of time perhaps because TPL owed Cooper fees. Otteson is handling TPL's other patent infringment cases with the ITC, so maybe it was a courtesy. Otteson began his firm to service NPEs (non practicing entities aka patent trolls).
<When James Otteson left Wilson Sonsini to start Agility IP Law, he said he wanted to work for large tech companies. But despite a CV that boasts plenty of big-ticket patent litigation, including for colorful clog-maker Crocs, most clients said they needed to hire a brand-name firm.
Otteson picked up a few defense mat- ters, but nothing that was going to build his practice substantially, he said. So he turned to bringing contingency cases for NPEs.>

OK ....just me and my opinion again (sigh)---as usual corrections are always welcome in a civil manner
