A question from an Elder

I may be an elder on this board but I am not necessarily one of the wisest or brightest..... for instance....

Why do we say that Barco is one of the Taiwanese 3 that we are presently suing in California for infringement when in actuality they are a European company headquartered in Brussels? They have offices around the world including in the U.S., in States such as Ga. and Calif.

This question has no bearing or meaning to the consequences or outcome of the suit or the ruling of the MH but I have always wondered why we refer to it as an Asian company? Thanks in advance for any factual answer.
